Primary Schools
Primary Schools
We have a selection of activities for Key Stage 2 students.
These encourage and develop many skills including problem solving, creativity and team work as well as building confidence.
Industry Fashion Show
A fun activity that looks at the clothing worn in the work place to provide protection or identification. Using everyday materials students produce their own uniforms and take part in a
fashion show.
Starts young people thinking
about possible future careers.
Reading Partners
As part of your literacy programme Reading Partners can be used to improve students skills.
A small team of volunteers from a local
business come into school
once a week and work with
a student or small group
of students.
Number Partners
A similar programme to Reading Partners to improve numeracy skills.
Specially designed games that look at different aspects of numeracy, including the multiplication tables, are played by small groups of students with a business mentor leading the activity.
NOTE: All Reading and Number Partner volunteers are Enhanced CRB checked. Reading Partners always work in teams. For these schemes a coordinator is required in the school. The activity should take place in an open area e.g. library, with a member of staff present.
Thematic
Students get a taste of business in a fun and exciting way as they set up and run their own manufacturing company and using materials supplied make and sell products to ‘market places’ to make a profit.
Numeracy skills are also enhanced by buying of materials and selling of the products.
