“It was pleasing to see the students totally immersed in their tasks and taking on the challenge. The variety of approach and ideas never cease to amaze me. They had to meet deadlines
and manage their time,
work in teams and use
each other’s talents but
essentially it was a lot
of fun and all the supervising staff thoroughly enjoyed it”

commented Mike Elmes, Head of Business and Enterprise at St Bernard’s High School and Arts College, after their students took part in the
Olympic Challenge.

“In the past we organised our own Enterprise Days which involved an enormous amount of work and staffing issues. Now we just let Maria Ramsey know what programmes we’d like and she and her colleagues arrive all ready to go, I just have to supply paper and pens. It’s great the days are no longer as stressful as they used to be.”

Mock interviews give students a real chance to find out what it’s all about,
here’s a few of their comments:

“It helped me understand that a real interview will be like and will be good experience for a job”

“I found the most useful part of the interview was the feedback
because it gave me am idea on what questions to ask at the end.
Being able to know what an interview is like so I am prepared for a real one”

“This was a successful exercise and should be used more often for others to gain the experience”
