Update to the Vetting and Barring Scheme
You may have heard in the news that the government has announced their intention to remodel the Vetting and Barring Scheme (VBS) back to proportionate, common sense levels.
This means the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) registration phase of the scheme which was due to launch in July 2010 has now been stopped.
The launch of a new application form, which was happening to co-inside with ISA registration, will still go ahead as planned but the CRB will ignore any information completed which relates to ISA registration.
